Review: 127 Hours
In 2003, on a beautiful April day in the Utah’s Blue John Canyon, young, yet experienced, mountain climber Aron Ralston went hiking. Despite knowing the region better than anyone, the cocky 28-year-old fell victim to an unlucky mishap and was trapped by a boulder. He wasn’t seen for five days, and was subsequently only discovered after he single-handedly amputated his own arm using a blunt pocketknife. 127 Hours is Danny Boyle’s (Slumdog Millionaire) film based on Ralston’s experience and he has succeeded in making a film that captures the crushing dread and escalating madness that we can only imagine Ralston really went through.
