Have you seen Martin McDonagh's Seven Psychopaths? Of course you haven't, it's not out until tomorrow on the 8th of November. I haven't even had the chance to see it yet as I had to miss the media screening due to that whole working in exchange for money thing. Sigh, right? I've heard reactions all over the map for this follow-up to In Bruges so I'm perhaps even more interested in it because of that.
Hopscotch Films. The company is currently on a high with their latest release, Bachelorette, debuting at #2 at the box office. It did so ahead of End of Watch and Housos vs Authority, so I think that deserves a bit of an applause. Can't imagine what Bachelorette's American distributor was doing let it languish in VOD and limited release, but there you go. Seven Psychopaths though is out this week and if you would like to win a pass to see it (valid until end of season at all participating cinemas) then email me with the subject "SEVEN PSYCHOPATHS" and name two of the film's cast members. Hint: Their names are on the poster right there to your left!
Easy peasy, right? Easy peasy!
As an aside, remember when Colin Farrell won the Golden Globe for In Bruges? When he was nominated alongside James Franco for Pineapple Express? When the category was presented by Sandra Bullock, "the star of the upcoming features The Proposal and All About Steve" (but not The Blind Side)? What a weird and wacky time. He even made a joke about Florida, which seems entirely pertinent given today's American electoral shenanigans (yay, by the way, for that!)
