While I away Maurice Jarre passed. He is surely one of cinemas finest musical people and has created the scores for some of the biggest movies ever made - Lawrence of Arabia and Doctor Zhivago, anybody? However, my favourite work of his (that I have heard, anyway, his resume is quite extensive) will be that for Witness, the 1985 Amish thriller starring Harrison Ford (and a young debut Viggo Mortensen!) I have several of the tracks from that score on iTunes and I could listen to them all day. My personal favourite being the title theme, but the only clip I could find is the end credits music. 1980s synth scores are gorgeous.
