Good Posters are a Dying Breed...

...but is this poster for Dying Breed good? (via).

I haven't the faintest idea. Nothing about the trailer - view it below - or the general premise of the film alludes to anything about it being remotely comedic so I'm not sure why they went down that path for the poster. Sure, it'll catch people's eyes, but if people go into the cinema expecting the poster to be a fair representation of Dying Breed then they'll be a bit peeved because, from all reports, it's less Scary Movie and more Wolf Creek (although not as good as either, natch).

Dying Breed is, if you can't assume from the poster, about cannibals. Set in Tasmania it revolves around a group of young folk (of course) in the Tasmania wilderness. Throw in two famous Tassie legends - Alexander Pierce and the Tasmania Tiger and apparently you have a horror film starring Nathan Phillips and Leigh Whannell. Nevertheless, it is original so that's something to be thankful for I guess.

Now compare it to the simpler, and creepier, teaser poster. Hmmm.

I'm looking forward to this one, if not for the originality of the story-line as you've already pointed out, but for the dishy Nathan Phillips.

I hate Nathan Phillips. He is such a douchebag.
