Australia Trailer Premieres

This is it, folks. The trailer (first, admittedly, as I'm sure there's another even bigger one to come) for Baz Luhrmann's "epic love story" starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman - Australia.

Quality is a iffy and there's Mandarin subtitles (the trailer comes from a Hong Kong YouTube user and it's the only one currently up on the site), but you can still marvel in it's gorgeous awesomeness. That music, especially, is giving me chills as is the cinematography, the sight of people like Bryan Brown and David Gulpilil alongside Nicole and Hugh, etc. My personal favourite bit is Nicole going all Devo on our arses and cracking that whip.

That bit were Nicole says "...called Oz" sounds a bit strange, but that's just nitpicking. Bask, people. Bask!

The trailer actually premiered on Telstra BigPond, but the quality is even crummier on there (well, for me that is).

Any Australian readers may want to check out tonight's (May 19) episode of A Current Affair (if you can stomach it) because they apparently have a story about Australia on there. It will, most certainly feature the trailer and some other morcels of information.

nice match for the music "St Crispin's Day - Battle of Agincourt", composed by Patrick Doyle for Kenneth Branagh's Henry V.

Almost as inspired as using Conan the Barbarian theme for Gladiator

Loved that trailer! There's actually a slightly better version up on the Apple site: http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/australia/
