SAG Predictions

Because I'm an awards masochist, what can I do but predict awards? Especially considering we not gonna have any awards shows. Hmmph.

BEST ENSEMBLE
Atonement
Hairspray
Into the Wild
Michael Clayton
No Country for Old Men
alt: Juno or Sweeney Todd

You know who probably knows the outcome best? NOBODY! So I dunno. Go with the flow, or some such.

BEST LEAD MALE ACTOR
George Clooney, Michael Clayton
Daniel Day-Lewis, There Will Be Blood
Johnny Depp, Sweeney Todd
Viggo Mortensen, Eastern Promises
Denzel Washington, American Gangster
alt: Josh Brolin, No Country for Old Men / Phillip Seymour Hoffman, The Savages or Before the Devil Knows You're Dead

'tev

BEST LEAD FEMALE ACTROR
Amy Adams, Enchanted
Cate Blanchett, Elizabeth: The Golden Age
Marion Cotillard, La Vie en Rose
Julie Christie, Away from Her
Ellen Page, Juno
alt: Angelina Jolie, A Mighty Heart

Fucked if I know, but they didn't nominate Keira for Pride & Prejudice a few years back so I can't see them nominating her now for a movie that she's not in very much of (even if she is stupendously amazing whenever she's on screen.)

BEST SUPPORTING MALE ACTOR
Javier Bardem, No Country for Old Men
Hal Holbrook, Into the Wild
Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Charlie Wilson's War
John Travolta, Hairspray
Tom Wilkinson, Michael Clayton
alt: Casey Affleck, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford

It was between Travolta and Affleck and Travolta is incredibly well-liked so I put him in for drag act in Haisrpay over Affleck's Oscar-worthy LEAD performance.

BEST SUPPORTING FEMALE ACTOR
Cate Blanchett, I'm Not There
Vanessa Redgrave, Atonement
Saoirse Ronan, Atonement
Amy Ryan, Gone Baby Gone
Tilda Swinton, Michael Clayton
alt: Catherine Keener, Into the Wild or Ruby Dee, American Gangster

Because they love the veterans so I reckon Redgrave is in for her startling cameo, but watch for Ruby Dee to steal her spot.
