Chart Trash and Treasure

So, I was glancing at this weeks ARIA charts and was pleasantly surprised to see the top five songs in the country were these:

Kylie debuts at #1 for what is surely the one billionth time in her global career (sans America of course) followed by the only two good songs off of Timbaland's Shock Value album, followed by The Veronicas' ace "Hook Me Up" from their amazing album of the same name. And then debuting at #5 is Ricki-Lee's deservedly top five song "Love is All Around". So, you know, that's all amazing and such... and then you check out positiong 6-9. Ugh...

Santana (enough to make you cringe right there) featuring Cha... Cha... ugh, I can't even say it. I don't want to pollute Stale Popcorn with his name. Then boring Plain White T's, Sean Kingston and Matchbox 20. Seriously. Gross. At least Delta's "In This Life" gives the top ten a brief moment of respite at the end.

Speaking of the Delts, here she is performing her soon-to-be smash hit "Believe Again" on Australian Idol two weeks back. Christ that song is amazing. Let's just hope the video is better than that one with all the chairs :/

Can't say I'm a fan of the backup dancers from the performance though... It's like they grabs a hole lot of schoolies and shoved them on stage.
