I seriously couldn't have planned this any better. At a time when I seem to be constantly harping on about Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof, the very film that inspired his car carnage flick, Vanishing Point, shows up on the countdown at number 90.

During the top 100 you will notice there are quite a few posters for either horror and cult flicks (a lot of the time these two genres overlap) and I think that's because they are typically seen as inferior products and must do whatever they can to entice audience members to pay to see them. The trailers are usually crude, so for me it is the posters that need to be effective and when it comes to this design for Vanishing Point I think it definitely works.

The eye catching central design (a car coming to destroy these happy guitar-playing tamborine-tapping bike-riding kids) is accentuated by that killer tagline:

"Tighten your seat belt.
You never had a trip like this before."

Man, that's a doozy! Another field where horror flicks are lightyears ahead of the competition is being able to come up with ripper taglines, and believe me, there are several more amazing ones to come.
